The sad, sad realities of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 are now rearing its ugly head.

Until its passing, there was a limit as to how many radio and TV stations one could own. Now, it's almost limitless.

Now, one company, Sinclair Broadcast Group owns TV stations in almost 1/2 of America and they're forcing their stations to air their disgusting, biased features during their newscasts.

This past week, the website Deadspin exposed a shocking video that showed anchors for dozens of Sinclair-owned stations reading off of the same script. In the video, local news anchors state that they are committed to checking their facts and even slammed social media. Of course, this is from a media giant that forces their stations to air segments like Terrorism Alert Desk and Drumpf butt buddy Boris Epshteyn during their newscasts.

Some people are labeling Sinclair's agenda as "Orwellian". One anchor at a Sinclair station even claimed that they felt like a POW reading a statement. There's even reports that local management at other Sinclair O&Os aren't happy about their forced agenda.

Sadly, I feel ashamed that I'm from northern Michigan, a market where there's practically only two major media companies that own all the TV stations. Sinclair owns NBC WPBN 7&4 and ABC station WGTU 29&8. It was 7&4's main anchor team of Mark Schollett and Kristen Lowe that appeared in that station's version of the robotic speech. I know people who know people who work at 7&4, and sadly, the atmosphere there is quite grim.

Oddly enough, Sinclair's competition up north, CBS WWTV 9&10 and Fox/CW WFQX 32 has been locally owned by Mario Iacobelli and his family for 30 years. The stations recently moved to a new, state-of-the-art facility near Cadillac after spending over 60 years in a remote area underneath the station's 2000-foot tower. But, is 9&10 perfect? Sadly, no. They have been accused of airing paid news stories in the pastand they even removed the Howard Stern Radio Show on Saturday nights just after Columbine in favor of infomercials from the National Rifle Association. Plus, 32 is an affiliate of quite possibly the worst program in the history of television, The 700 Club. Tragically, the TV stations up north do a yeoman's job of pandering to those who've moved up north from Detroit to get away from all the black people.

Of course, we're lucky here in Grand Rapids. Tragically, CBS/CW WWMT-3 is a Sinclair O&O, but there's also NBC WOOD-TV 8 (Nexstar), ABC WZZM-13 (Tegna) and WXMI Fox 17 (Tribune), though there's talks of Sinclair trying to acquire Tribune. If so, it could be likely that Sinclair will use one of their shell companies (i.e. Chesapeake Media or Deerfield Media) to buy out 17.

But in the end, Sinclair does have one person who believes in them, and it's Drumpf himself. He even made this tweet: "So funny to watch Fake News Networks, among the most dishonest groups of people I have ever dealt with, criticize Sinclair Broadcasting for being biased. Sinclair is far superior to CNN and even more Fake NBC, which is a total joke." So, there you go, folks. Watching a Sinclair station for your news is like bowing down to Drumpf himself, him pulling down his pants and you licking his anus. I hope to God that our next president will shut down the FCC so Sinclair will force to sell off most of their stations and allow real voices to do the news.

But until then, enjoy seeing local news anchors being forced to sit in chairs with hands from Baltimore pasted onto them, making the anchors their puppet.
