This has been a depressing past few weeks for the NRA since the untimely shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.

Since all our politicians did was send their "thoughts and prayers", people have been bashing the pro-gun wackjobs for trying to keep semi-automatic weapons legal despite recent mass shootings in Parkland, Orlando and Las Vegas that have all killed over 100 people. Now, America is turning their backs against the NRA since a few days ago, several companies such as Hertz, Avis, Alamo, Enterprise and Budget Rent-a-Car, United and Delta Air Lines, MetLife and Symantec have all stopped giving discounts to NRA members.

Sadly, there are still a few companies that are still partnering with the NRA. Apple, Roku, Amazon and YouTube still air the NRA's content while Google and Omni Hotels are still supporting the organization.

Now, the NRA has been given one of its biggest slaps in the face.

Today, Dick's Sporting Goods, one of America's largest sports retailers announced sweeping changes in the way they sell guns. Chairman and CEO Edward W. Stack announced that they will no longer sell semiautomatic weapons and high-capacity magazines and will only sell guns to those over 21 years old. In Mr. Stack's statement, he also called for legislators to ban assault-style weapons, raise the minimum age of buying guns to 21, ban high-capacity magazines and bump stocks, enable a universal background check program to bar those with mental issues and a criminal past to buy guns and close the private sale and gun show loophole where anybody can buy a gun.

Since Dick's announcement made earlier today, only a small number of major retailers still sell semiautomatic weapons, including Bass Pro Shops/Cabela's and Camping World/Gander Outdoors. No word if those retailers will join Dick's in pulling out of the semiautomatic weapon business.

I would hope that other retailers will join Dick's in their fight to curb gun violence in America. But since it's still legal to buy semiautomatics here in the USA, I know that there will be some diehard ma-n-pa gun shop owners who will all think that Dick's are a bunch of snowflakes and they will join the NRA and sell whatever gun they want to whomever they want. If the gun they sell causes scores of people to die, sucks to be the victims since none of them had a gun of their own to stop that perp. But, hey, they'll have plenty of thoughts and prayers to send.

Look, I'm pro-gun and very pro-Second Amendment. My family has had a deer cabin in the deep rural Upper Peninsula of Michigan since the late 1920s and they still hunt there. However, I doubt if the Founding Fathers of this great nation would ever allow these killing machines as real arms since all they've been designed for is killing people. I have no problem with people killing deer or wild game, but if you have a problem with people, you need serious help.

Since Dick's pulled out, so should the NRA.

2.27.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Billy Graham

Ya know, it's sad that some of our greatest minds didn't live all that long.

Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse all died at 27.

Last year, we lost Tom Petty, Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell, at 66, 41 and 52, respectively.

But yet, Billy Graham lived to be 99, just months short of 100.

When I was young, Graham's TV crusades aired all the time, often blocking network programming. I often saw him as some angry old man screaming and yelling from a pulpit and quite simply, old and boring.

I know, some people loved the guy because he was a beacon of Jesus throughout most of the 20th Century. But, however, the dude was worth $25 million when he died last week. Did he ever hear of that story in the Bible where Jesus talked to the rich young man about giving his wealth to the poor? Um, yeah. Plus, the dude was a homophobe and even blasted Jews in a conversation with Nixon in the 70s.

Back in the 70s, Graham responded to a letter from a woman who claimed that she had feelings for another woman and he responded with a passage from 1 Corinthians 6:9 where the apostle Paul spews out that a whole bunch of people will not receive the glory of God, and the LGBT crowd was one of them. However, that verse of the Bible has long been mistranslated from the Greek texts since there was no concrete term for "homosexuality" at that time. However, oddly enough in the next verse, he mentions the greedy and that's how 'ol Billy made his bucks: begging his flock to give him money.

What's even more sad for Graham was the fact that he was a firm believer in gay conversion therapy, like Michele Bachmann (remember her?) and her husband, who did it for a living.

Ya know, it's sad that grifters like Billy Graham worked their way up in government to be the "spiritual advisor" to our presidents up until Obama. I have to wonder if that's part of the reason why we don't have universal healthcare and heavy amounts of gun violence. Maybe it's because Billy said so? Who knows.

The truth is, is that Billy Graham was almost just as bad as most of the rotten televangelists out there. Even worse is that his son, Franklin is even worse since he's more vocal than his father. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Thanks, but this world is better off than dealing with people who mix God with hate.

Damn am I happy this winter is over.

....Or is it?

Normally, this time of year is when winter is calling it quits, but here in Grand Rapids, it's already in the 40s and the snow is melting. Most of the snow left it seems are the pileups caused by the snow plows. As a matter of fact, the temps have gone up so much in the past few weeks that it's causing it to build up floods everywhere. The local meteorologists were fearing that the flood levels would be as high as they were in 2013. But thankfully, they were wrong and now, the floods are receding again.

Throughout the Midwest, there's flooding, tornadoes and even a few towns getting a lot of snow. One of worst casualties, sadly, occurred on Sunday when a legendary landmark in Kalkaska, MI tumbled to the ground due to high winds.

That landmark was the Big Boy sign, greeting travelers as they traveled north on US 131 (or trying to get the hell outta town, driving south).

The Big Boy statue had been a part of Kalkaska's culture since the 1970s when the restaurant - under the aegis of the Elias Brothers - opened its doors. Close-up shots of the checker-panted icon show that his head had spit in half. It looks like he'll be paying a trip to the local dump once all is cleared up.

Then again, it sucks to be them. I was there a number of years ago and the service SUCKED. The old waitress was rude and the breakfast bar didn't seem fresh at all. Plus, my table was sticky. It might explain why there's just two Big Boys left in Grand Rapids, plus the fact that I can spot more former Big Boys than ones still operating. Let's not forget that the town mayor is an asshole, plus the fact that it's the birthplace of good 'ol WKLT, the geezer rock station that I was FORCED to listen to growing up.

Ya know, it's sad that our government is filled to the core with those who all believe that climate change is not real, but it is. I even cringed when Drumpf wrote in a tweet that we oughta give the Midwest some global warming. The truth is, global warming can cause both extremely cold and hot weather. Here in GR, it'll be 57 tomorrow when it should be in the upper 30s/lower 40s. If it freezes again, it could hurt plantation and crops, causing food prices to soar.

Yes, we can fool Mother Nature. We need to use wind turbines, solar power other means of renewable energy. We need to use our cars less. So on and so on. Drumpf bringing back coal jobs will only make things worse. We need leaders who will get our country back in order again and make us leaders in our dependence away from coal and other pollutant powers.

Maybe if we worked at it earlier, Big Boy would still be the pride of Kalkaska.

Well, it's been a week since the horrible shootings that took place in Parkland, FL and it looks like Drumpf might *actually* find a solution for the amount of gun violence in America.

His solution? Turning teachers into marksmen.

That's right! In a conference today, Drumpf announced that he was considering having schools train their teachers to shoot at intruders in the classroom. Under his plan, those willing to be taught would get a bump in pay.

Also under Drumpf's plan, he would increase the minimum age to buy a semi-automatic weapon to 21, something the NRA is not happy about since they think that it will violate the Second Amendment. Drumpf has also called for a ban on bump stocks like the one used in last year's Las Vegas mass shooting.

Problem is, both guns in both the mass shootings in Orlando and Las Vegas were purchased by those over 21. In the case of the Sandy Hook and Columbine shootings, both guns were bought by the parents of the shooters. Just because a 19-year-old caused the shooting in Parkland doesn't mean that it will prevent more shootings.

Sadly, Drumpf is trying to compromise with his supporters and haters. But in the end, it won't work. We need to tell the NRA and other gun lobbyists that we need to get guns designed to kill people off the streets. We need to look at other countries and wonder why they haven't had mass murders in years. The reason is simple: they're doing what we SHOULD be doing.

And that, my friends is getting assault rifles off the streets.

2.21.18 Bee-otches of the Day: Florida House of Representatives

Yesterday, a group of 100 students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School - the same school that got shot up last week - went to the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee in hopes of getting their voices heard.

They were there to persuade the state's House of Representatives to look into getting a bill passed that would begin discussions into strengthening gun laws in the state, especially after 17 people were killed at their school, plus the melee at Orlando's Pulse nightclub that killed 49.

Sadly, the state reps turned down that bill. However, they did pass the next bill on the agenda, declaring pornography a health risk.

Yes, according to the Florida House of Reps, porn, not guns are bad for you.

According to the bill's sponsor, Rep. Ross Spano, he believes that porn can lead to mental and physical illness and deviant behavior. But fellow Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith questioned him, claiming that porn does not kill people. WELL, DURH!

One of the most-sickening parts of America is the fact that it's easier to buy a gun instead of getting laid for some. Here in Grand Rapids, strip clubs have been outlawed since 2006 because of a haggard old bitch named Judy Rose who opposed a new strip club that had both topless and fully-nude dancers, Showgirl Galleria. Since the strip club ban, crime in GR has risen and so has prostitution since nobody wants to go to a bikini club and see something they already see at the beach.

This is what's wrong with America, folks: porn is bad and strip clubs must be shuttered while there must be a gun shop on every street corner. Here in GR, wanna see pussy? Gotta drive all the way to Muskegon (and from what I've heard, Odyssey is a hellhole). But here in Grand Rapids, drive up and down Division Ave. and there's a gun shop or a pawn shop selling Uzis, AK-47s and AR-15s for your school shooting needs.

Remember, when Janet Jackson accidentally exposed her breast during the Super Bowl Halftime show in 2004, the FCC cracked down on so-called indecency. After Sandy Hook and the mass shootings in Las Vegas, Orlando and now, Parkland, don't expect the government to do a damn thing. Drumpf might have been listening to the families affected, but he thinks that all will bowl over in the end.

This is why other countries laugh at us. They have tough gun laws and no school shootings while they have full frontal nudity on TV. Here, it's the other way around. Ever watch Jerry Springer? One mm of butt cheek gets a blur patch.

We can go on and on, but for God's sake, protect the boobies, not assault rifles!

Man, I am so damn happy that I don't live in Florida.

As a matter of fact, I haven't been to the "Sunshine" State in years. And yes, "Sunshine" is in quotation marks for a reason: the state is anything but happy right now, especially with the recent shooting that occurred in Parkland where 17 people were killed.

Today, 100 students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School drove eight hours to Tallahassee to protest governor Rick Scott and the fact that he's butt buddies with the National Rifle Association. So far, he's refused to say whether or not he'll bring on tougher gun standards to his state, especially with the A+ rating he has with the NRA.

Let's not forget that under his aegis, the nation's biggest mass shooting occurred in Orlando at the Pulse Nightclub where 49 souls were lost. That was until the Las Vegas shooting last year. Also, let's not forget that a day before the Pulse shootings, young singer Christina Grimmie was killed a day earlier.

Folks, Florida is the fifth-most-violent state in America. Would I move there? I think not. It's proof that a man well-loved by the NRA cannot cure the murder and other crime rates. The fact that somebody with severe mental issues was able to put his paws on an AR-15 when he's not allowed to drink a beer is hard to understand. This is why in the next election, I'll be sure to see what candidates the NRA loves and hates. Sadly, there are some Democrats that are pro-NRA.

The good news in all this? At least he's being term limited out of office.

Many years ago when I was a kid living in northern Michigan, there was a young boy who went to school with me.

This kid was the type of person who was in your face and annoying. He would walk on the backs of my feet and, well, that's how he made friends. Yeah, he had friends, and IIRC, he was the type that spent much of his school life in a resource room. However, 16 years ago, I was reading the obituary page in my local newspaper and was shocked to see his name mentioned.

I attended his wake and asked his mother how he died, and she claimed that the pharmacy gave him the wrong medication. Well, there was more to the story.

You see, this kid was adopted. His parents already had two girls but wanted a son. So, they became foster parents. They adopted this kid, who was born in Florida, probably to some idiots. I went to tech school with him and I remembered him getting kicked out. I heard it was for him not showing up to class. Well, he moved back in with his parents and one day, his mom was looking through a bag of his and found a gun and wadded up cash. He had broken into a house and stolen the items. So, the mother called the cops and they arrested his son.

Eventually, he ended up in the Grand Traverse County Jail where he was dealing with schizophrenia, so they gave him medication. However, he died from taking it.

So, let's see: this kid was adopted, had mental issues and had a gun in his possession. Sound familiar?

The big difference between him and Nikolas Cruz was the fact that this particular person had a mother who knew that people could be put in danger because of his actions. Yes, sadly he died in jail, but the good news is that this mother's thinking could have prevented a mass shooting for all we know.

A few years ago, I saw a political cartoon with an elephant proclaiming that we need to do everything to protect the unborn. Then, in the next panel, an NRA logo appears and the elephant says something like "until they're 10 years old".

Sadly, I've met a lot of people who were adopted and they're jerks. There's many kids who grew up fatherless and they turned out terrible. In high school, I knew two girls who were both. They both treated me like their personal Uber driver and a wallet to boot. I had to sit through their shit. Why? Because neither had a decent father figure in their lives. Hell, the one whose father disappeared on her's stepdad actually LAUGHED when planes were crashing into the World Trade towers on 9/11!

Sometimes, I don't understand the logic of people who give birth to kids who will grow up to be totally fucked up. Granted, not everybody who was a mistake turns out bad and there are some kick-ass single moms out there. But sadly, the fact that another school shooting happened because of a dumbass who was adopted, had mental issues and didn't come from a stable family is nothing more than shocking.

You see, I think women should never be ashamed to have an abortion. Hell, in this climate of school violence, should people even HAVE children? Sadly, as long as the Repukes and corporate Democrats are all funded by the ever-so-wealthy NRA, well, this is what happens.

As long as the NRA owns our souls, we can't have nice things.

A day after one of the most-horrific school shootings in history, the nation and even the world are still stunned.

A troubled 19-year-old monster who had a fascination towards guns took an Uber to his estranged high school near Miami and shot up his classmates. Afterward, he paid a visit to Subway, McDonald's and Walmart before being arrested.

And yes, Subway, McDonald's and Walmart would be the three last places I would ever go to before going to jail. But then again, Nikolas Cruz had a bad taste of life, considering that he was a gun nut that couldn't be stopped.

It was clear that Cruz had issues. Adopted as a child, his adoptive father died and his adoptive mother died late last year from influenza and pneumonia. Clearly, he lost direction in life and probably had nobody to look up to except the AR-15 that he used to shoot up the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Seventeen people's lives were lost in the melee.

One of the defining moments of the tragedy was when Lori Alhadeff, the mother of murdered 14-year-old Alyssa Alhadeff went on camera on CNN telling Drumpf that our kids need safety now. Plus, she had explained that she had spent the past two hours planning her daughter's funeral. Alhadeff's speech shook CNN host Brooke Baldwin so hard that she could barely speak.

Drumpf made a speech today but made no mention of guns at all. Apparently, he wants to make resolving mental issues a top priority, but not getting military-style weapons off our streets.

I know, not everybody who owns guns are sickos, but a lot of them are. Maybe Drumpf avoided the gun issue simply because the NRA is kissing his rich white ass. But then again, under his leadership, we're not safe as-is. Under his 2019 budget plan, he's cutting $24 million from school safety programs and millions more from Medicare that would help people with mental issues. In all Drumpf has once again proved that he's all talk and no action.

Oh, wait, he IS a man of action! Last February, he signed a bill that made it easier for those with mental illness to buy guns! He overturned a measure created by President Obama that prevented gun sales for some 75,000 Americans.

Once again, I hope the revolution is beginning. It's time to fix our two party system so the Democrats start listening to their progressive base instead of acting Republican Lite and getting zero done. If they can't do it, it'll be four more years of Drumpf and four more years of mass shootings. America already has one of the worst gun laws on the globe and as long as we have Repukes and middle of the road Dems in charge, shit just won't happen.

The Second Amendment: misunderstood since 1791.

Back in 2004, Janet Jackson accidentally showed her boob on national TV and the government started to crack down on so-called "indecency" on TV.

Well, we've had Columbine, Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook, Pulse in Orlando and Las Vegas to name a few. The government's response? Nothing doing.

Now, we have Parkland, FL, near Miami, where 19-year-old Nicholas de Jesus Cruz gunned down 17 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which was named for an environmentalist. According to fellow students, he was a gun nut who loved to show off his weapons. According to the school, he was expelled from making threats against his classmates.

The question is that why the school allowed him back in the first place is beyond anybody's guess. Even better, why his parents allowed him to have guns if he was such a nutjob is pure insanity.

The Janet Jackson debacle vs. shooting debate shows that our country needs to rethink its priorities. It's funny that other countries embrace female nudity on TV and have better gun laws. As a result, there's fewer gun crimes. Here in America, it's a different story.

The funny thing is that the NRA thinks they know how to solve gun incidents in America. They think that forcing all schools to have police branches and even to have students carrying guns is the answer to all of life's problems. However, in the end, it simply shows that they're part of the problem instead. These assholes buy our politicians and even though so many have died under our antiqued gun laws, they will cry Second Amendment and therefore, there's nothing we can do to stop the insanity.

Folks, this is why our government is broken beyond our repair. We have a president who's pro-gun, a house and senate that's the same and Democrats who are Dems in name only. This is part of the reason why I'm starting to think that voting independent might be the only answer. Our country needs ACTION, not just thoughts and prayers.

Remember, boobs don't kill people, guns kill people.

Saturday morning, I woke up past 5 a.m. to see lights flickering outside my window.

There was a firetruck, complete with a few vehicles in front and behind it. I was thinking that maybe there was an accident or somebody had to be taken to the hospital. So, I took a piss and hopped back into bed.

Several hours later, I woke up, opened my shades and turned on my phone. One of the first messages that I received was from one of my news apps saying that there was a massive fire at an apartment complex next to mine.

I went online and the station had a news story about the fire, which caused the roof to collapse. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the third floor to that building was gone. I went out later that day to see the damage. You could see through the windows and there was nothing left. The walls had collapsed, revealing the foundation. I shook my head, knowing that this were people's homes.

Later on that evening, I was doing laundry and I had an idea. Why not donate some of my old clothes to the apartment to give to the victims? So on Monday, when they reopened for business, they told me to come in with what I had and I did. I had an armload of old shirts, jeans and towels that I no longer used, plus an old wifi router and a dish rack that I no longer used. One of the ladies in the office told me that I was the FIRST PERSON to donate items to the victims of the fire. I was happy, but at the same time, angry that not more people wanted to help out.

In the years that I've lived here, it doesn't really shock me all that much. As a matter of fact, the only person that tried to friend me here was a drunk Vietnamese guy who would make me go to the liquor store to get beer and cigarettes for him and he was living in squalor. To everybody else here, I'm a stranger. But since it seems that nobody else wanted to help these poor people - many of whom didn't have renters insurance - get back on their feet.

I know, renters insurance only costs around $10 per month for many, but to some, it's just another unneeded bill. That is, until their home catches fire and they no longer have a bed to sleep on or a TV to watch. When I was a little boy, my parents made me donate old toys and clothes to those whose homes burned down. I fondly remember going to a family friend's house that had just burned down with my parents and they showed me some of the toys in the garage that were charred. They wanted me to think of others when they lost their possessions.

It's sad that when these 40 or so people lost their things, I bolted to action. True, the Red Cross helped, but still, I felt that more could be done.

Sometimes, I get angry when people give to the wrong people. We have idiots like Joel Osteen making tax-free millions from brainwashed dolts who think that they only way to God is through giving giant wads of cash to him. Or the morons who helped Kenneth "God doesn't talk to people in coach" Copeland get himself a $36 million jet plane. Sometimes, I mentally scream in agony knowing that good people like my aunt are dying from cancer while grifters like Pat Robertson - who recently had a stroke - are still with us.

My mom told me that she gets angry thinking about good people dying while assholes get to live. She told me that it could all be God's plan and we have to deal with it. Maybe God needs my aunt more than he needs Pat Robertson. Who knows?

The thing is, people need to worry about the elephants instead of the peanuts. When they see people struggle, I think God wants us to help them. They don't need to go through a charity, they can simply know somebody who needs help and help them.

There's probably a few thousand who live in my apartment community. Yet, I'm the good guy.

In all honesty, I shouldn't be giving GRD the Bee-otch of the Day.

Last week, the station announced that they've hired Tommy Carroll as their new programming director. He's coming in from 103.9 The Bear in South Bend, IN, where he was also PD. Carroll will also handle afternoon jock duties for GRD.

In recent weeks, GRD has severely cut back on playing butt rock titles, though some classics still remain on the playlist. It's also worth noting that GRD doesn't play as many currents as they once did, which to me, sucks. Then again, this is Townsquare Media we're talking about here.

It's too bad that Carroll can't come soon enough.

On Sunday morning, I was listening to GRD and they aired one of their sweepers identifying a new song. The sweeper had a male voice saying "cranking out more new rock now" with a robotic female voice identifying the song with the male voice returning to say "97-9 GRD".

The problem is, the song that was ID'd was "Dark Necessities" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, a song that was released two years ago.

Hmmmm. A song that was released in 2016 is new in 2018? Looks like somebody fell asleep at the switch. Then again, the station really started to suck with Johnnie Walker at the helm. Well, he's gone.

The sad thing is that I've heard various songs with that sweeper that are old. Is it me, or do the idiots who run things at GRD don't even care?

Time for me to play Armchair PD. If a song has just entered the charts and is new to the station, then air the new music sweeper. If the tune is, say a month old, retire that sweeper for that song. SIMPLE! If somebody from outside Grand Rapids is listening to WGRD and hear that sweeper before "Dark Necessities" or other tunes, it will make GRD and Grand Rapids look very picayune.

At least they're not using that sweeper before "Carry On Wayward Son".

2.8.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Donald Trump

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Last Seen: Washington, DC
Bee-otched For: another fun day on Wall Street

So Drumpf's tax cuts were supposed to jumpstart the economy, eh?

Once again today, the Dow was down almost 1,033 points, the second day in one week it's been down over 1,000 points in one day. It has now lost 4.15% of its value in just this day.

I love it how the cons are happy that Drumpf's plans were all supposed to improve our already-improving economy. OK, so explain why the Dow's in a freefall. Some are saying that because the economy had been improving so much, that it had deserved to be in a correction mode.

But of course, this is Drumpf we're talking about; a man whose staff secretary, Rob Porter was let go because of spousal abuse of two ex-wives and the fact that once again, a government shutdown is looming because of his views on immigration.

But like I say, we can get this prick out of the White House. The Dems need to stay away from middle of the road candidates and celebrities from running our government. We need a proven leader, not another situation like 2016.

Why? Look at us now.

2.7.18 Bee-otch of the Day: iHeartMedia

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: iHeartMedia
Age: 46
Occupation: Satan, fka Clear Channel
Last Seen: San Antonio, TX
Bee-otched For: getting close to going broke

---
One of the biggest and most-evil radio companies in America is close to following fellow evil radio giant Cumulus down the road to bankruptcy.

iHeartMedia this week voted to miss a $106 million payment to creditors. The company, which is saddled with $20 billion in debt owns more than 855 radio stations. They syndicate right-winged pill-popper Rush Limbaugh, American Top 40 with Ryan "Tinker Bell" Seacrest, Howard Stern clone shows Rover's Morning GloryMojo in the Morning and The Woody Show and the annoying old yenta known as Delilah, whose show is so bad, no wonder why her son killed himself.

What's funny is that there's three big radio groups here in Grand Rapids and already, Cumulus filed for Chapter 11 a few weeks ago. This would leave the mid-sized Townsquare untouched by the bankruptcy bug, but then again, that company was the product of a bankruptcy since it's the old Regent Communications. What's even more funny - at least to me - is the fact that both iHeart and Cumulus made it a point to drop Howard Stern on all their stations due to either the Janet Jackson nip slip or in Cumulus's case, their idiotic thinking that some imitators like Lex and Terry could do even better.

Of course, a huge part of the reason for iHeart's money woes was simply because they bought out a ton of stations after the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and after 9/11 and the growth of internet streaming, advertising revenues have fallen tremendously. I once had a family member who worked for one of their stations in Detroit in advertising. He didn't last six months because he only sold two spots. And this was one of iHeart's higher-rated stations.

There's too many reasons why iFart can't pay off their debts. They include mediocre programming and the fact that they keep polishing turds. Look at here in Grand Rapids: there's 101.3 The Brew. That station has been some sort of classic or mainstream rock format since 2001. Yet, they've been a ratings dud since day one. They once carried Bob and Tom, but dropped the show because of poor ratings. They even changed its name from The Fox to The Brew to capitalize on Grand Rapids being "Beer City USA". The ratings still suck. Why they carry Rover's Morning Glory now is beyond everybody.

I, like so many others would love to see how corporate radio does business. iHeart should wonder why digital media companies like Pandora, Spotify and SiriusXM are profitable why they're in the financial dumps. OK, so there's the iHeartRadio app. Like Pandora, it allows people to listen to their favorite tunes and skip the songs they hate. Nice, but it won't help to solve their debt. In all, it's time for iHeart to sell off and call it a career.

Terrestrial radio: dying a slow, painful death since 1-9-06.
