It is getting harder and harder to be a hard worker these days, especially when you have a family.

And thanks to the Republicans, if your family is reliant on food stamps, they're screwed.

Thanks to the Republican-led Congress, the average person on food stamp assistance is now making $36 less per month on the program. Now, I shop at Aldi (you know, the discount supermarket where most of their items are their own brands), and I spend $40 on a week's groceries myself. Now, imagine if that's a family of four. One person will be getting less, or better yet, all four members will be getting a little bit less.

And yet, the billionaires in this country will still have a good year with their taxes and the oil companies will still prosper with high salaries and kick-backs from our own government.

I love how the right thinks. They think that when they see somebody pay with their groceries with an EBT card or food stamps, they're lazy and don't want to work. The truth is, only 20% of people who use food stamps even fit in that category. They work hard, but don't make enough money to support their family, so they rely on government assistance. Shit happens; people lose their jobs, get injured or have a serious issue that affects their lives, so they need assistance to survive. Now, with their food stamps slashed, how are they going to live?

Next year, folks, next year...
