Traditionally, Florida is one of the most-Democratic states in the union. But since Jeb Bush took over the state's governorship in 1999, it's been a Republican hellhole. As a matter of fact, this is the longest streak Florida has had Republican governors ever in its history, and the first time it's had three Republican governors in a row since the days after the Civil War.

True, Charlie Crist was an independent his last year as governor, the state is still in Republican damnation. In 2010, two new people ran for governor: Democrat Alex Sink - a woman of Taiwanese decent - and Republican Rick Scott. Scott won by an extremely narrow margin, just over 60,000 votes. Once again, the state is stuck under Republican control for at least another four years.

Scott is a businessman and former CEO who once owned one of the largest healthcare manufacturers in the country, Columbia/HCA. However, he was forced out of the company when it was discovered that the company was screwing over Medicare and was forced to pay the government over $600 million in fines in 1997. He then started up and acquiring several smaller businesses over time, even creating what is now the Oprah Winfrey Network. Scott was the founder of Conservatives for Patients' Rights, which urges the government to stick with its free market healthcare policies instead of going with a government-run system.

It's too bad, though that Scott himself has.... Government-run healthcare.

Yep! It's been revealed (and once again, thanks Lu Cifer for nominating Scott for BOTD) that Gov. Scott only has to pay a whopping $365 per year for his healthcare... FOR HIS WHOLE FAMILY! That of course includes him, his wife Ann and two children Jordan and Allison. Meanwhile, the rest of America is being forced into bankruptcy just because we banged our knee or if we get a sprain.

OK, so government-run healthcare is OK, but only if you're rich! After all, Scott tried to run down Medicare and lost big time. Oh, and isn't it unusual that Scott is good pals with George W. Bush? After all, the two were both owners of the Texas Rangers baseball team in the 1990's.

Point is, it's people like Scott that make me happy that I've NEVER voted Republican. Even worse, I can't believe how bad the economy is. Both my parents are struggling financially and I was forced to get rid of a golden ring that my mother gave me that was once my parents' wedding rings combined. And even THAT only covers part of a minimum balance on my next credit card payment.

People who vote GOP are nothing more than idiots just because we have a black president. Obama was a decent man in the beginning, but he's been forced to cower to the idiots on the right's demands. Compromises won't work. Obama needs to be FDR and tell Congress fuck you.

Florida, shame on you. Why would you want a crook who looks like Steve Wilkos with Leukemia as your governor? It's people like you that we're getting ready for round two of recession. Instead of spending their money on taxes that would create jobs, they're going to the Bahamas while the working class sinks further into losing it all just because they can't pay their bills.

In the end, don't blame me. I'm not the one who got us into this mess.
