America, it was nice knowin' ya.
Right now, America is facing a shutdown at midnight because of a budget shortfall unless the Republicans and Democrats can come to a resolution to keep the budget alive until September.
President Obama, Senator Reid and Representative Boehner had a meeting Tuesday to resolve the situation, but nuttin' doin'. The President and Boehner all had press conferences Tuesday trashing what should get cut from each bill. As usual, the Democrats don't want much cut while the Repukes want to cut important services such as NPR while maintaining the Pentagon.
If a shutdown happens, government-owned entities will be shuttered such as national parks and passport services. However, it'll be business as usual for the military and the post office.
Now, the tragedy is that because of Obama foolishly maintaining Bush's tax cuts for BOTH of what's left of the middle class and the wealthy, Money isn't as well-distributed as it once was. Once again, the top 400 billionaires in America have more money than the rest of the country combined. Yeah, the House will cry "well, the people have spoken and they voted for us", we can thank the fear-mongering media for blasting Obama and his so-called "low approval ratings" that chased people away from the polls.
Bear in mind that right now, Obama's approval rating is around 46%, still much higher than Bush's when he left the White House. Sadly, he has challenges: Libya, rising gas prices and now, this.
The point is, people need to grow a brain and vote. This shit happened back in the 1990's, and sadly, not a whole lot happened during Clinton's term in office. Yeah, he rose taxes and started reducing the deficit, but Bush fucked it up. Now, the tea party pricks are working overtime to make sure that the wealthy stay in their mansions while the economy continues to fail to recover, causing Obama's second term to be jeopardized.
After all, Donald Trump did find his birth certificate.
